5. The Search Engine is your friend. Make friends with your search engine and don’t give it a hard time. Being nice and friendly to it will make its job easier to serve your site up to your target audience.
6. Focus. Focus on the topic at hand and nothing else. The rule is one topic per page.
7. Join the directories. Directories are repositories of knowledge done by human hands while search engine are huge databases collected by mostly machine methods. The relevancy of your page when joining the right directory may shoot through the roof. Of course, make sure you know what you are talking about.
8. Start a linking campaign. A most effective SEO method. This is a must to do. Ask your allies, strategic partners, friends and acquaintances to place your site’s URL link on their sites. With a short description this can draw traffic from other sites and increase exposure. Google especially ranks the importance of its sites by the number of sites linked to it.
9. Repetition is the key to victory. Keep repeating the above tips, supporting and increasing what works and killing what does not as fast as possible until the desired result is achieved.
In the world of search engine optimization, content matters a lot. If a site has amateur or worse falsified information, fewer and fewer browsers will want to visit it. They will even spread bad news faster than good news so expect a garbage site to be ignored even in a week’s time.
There is no debate that links from quality websites pointing to your key web pages will help your search engine visibility. Google and Yahoo have both recognized the importance of allowing web owners to see who is linking to their website with search commands such as “link:” in the search box.
How to get quality inbound links is a good topic for a debate among SEO consultants. In my opinion, before you open up your wallet and pay for inbound links to your website, you should get all the free quality links that are available with little effort. After you create these free listings, wait 30 days and see if they appear in the Google and Yahoo list using the “link” commands.
If your free listing shows as an inbound link, it is a good indication that these free listings are valued by Google and Yahoo and then you can consider upgrading the listings with additional monies.
When I talk about free inbound links I am not talking about participating with link farm websites that have little content and their sole purpose is to post PPC ads and encourage people to exchange links with their site. Associating with link farms is dangerous because sending a link from your site to theirs, when you have no control of the content, could backfire and hurt you.
The free links I am talking about are from reputable organizations that offer free basic web listings which include your website URL. The fact that they allow you to enter your website URL is key to building a link. Some directories only allow your URL to be entered when you pay for a listing, like [http://www.yellowpages.com;] Keep note of these for a later date when you are done with all the free sites.

Be patient when adding your listing. In most cases you have to search for your company’s name in their database FIRST. If it comes up, most allow you to claim the listing and setup a free account to edit and add information.
If your company is not listed, in most cases you will find a link to add your company as a free listing. In all cases you will need to setup a free account. Just be careful to look for the area where you can select a “basic” or “free” listing.
The goal of these sites is twofold; they want to have the best directory on the Internet and they also will contact you to upgrade your listing. In the second case, see if their basic link is working for you and then decide if you want to upgrade. Since there is no obligation or buying requirement, a basic listing may be all you need. It will take up to 30 days to see these newly created inbound links get traffic from web bots and spiders. Yahoo Local is just starting to offer a free five page website on their Yahoo Local listings. Get in on the ground floor and pick a URL name that is rich with your keywords in your State. The current tool is very basic but once again, you can create value inbound links to your primary website.
Your Yahoo Local website URL can contain great keywords for your business. There many other sites that offer good free links, so check Yahoo and Google for these companies. Take a look at the sites and make sure they look and feel right. Websites that look like an ad farm should be avoided.

If you’re like me, I got really tired of paying for my traffic and striving to get a higher search engine ranking. The competition is getting tougher and tougher. Although I am getting more successful with my Google and Yahoo Marketing campaigns and that’s mainly because I’m getting more experienced at it. But believe me, I’ve wasted a lot of money going through the learning curve.

Traffic generation with social media is gradual. You’ll increase your traffic the more you work on your social media efforts, which will bring us to the next myth.
4.) Social media requires 8 hours of work and attention – This is not true. You’d only have to spend at least a couple of hours to update your Facebook or any other social media account. This is to ensure customers that the page or account is being managed and they can expect fresh updates from you. This also gives them an idea that your business’s social media account is an avenue for customer interaction, which is a huge bonus.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via Organic and Pay Per Click (PPC) search results for targeted keywords.
Organic traffic to your website is FREE. PPC is just what it says; you as the advertiser pay each time someone clicks on your ad.
Organic traffic represents about 80% of the Search Engine Marketing with PPC accounting for 20%. Typically, Organic traffic is generated through articles, press releases, and blogs that link the customer back to your website but it takes some time before your site is ranked in the search engines with this method. If you’re trying to generate free website traffic using your Pinterest account, you need to find the most effective of these techniques. Here’s a quick guide to help you find those techniques.
First, you have to create a pin that people are interested in, such as a product review or a new product that someone is promoting. A good way to do this is to find a popular niche, for example, an animal lover who’s looking for a new pet. Create a pin that has some interesting facts about this niche.
Next, use the search bar in your Pinterest account to find a pin related to your niche. Click on it and choose “Pin this pin.” On the next page, make sure that the “pin” you’re about to pin is public and visible by the millions of users that use Pinterest every day. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be highly visible – just get the word out!
When you have your pin, simply wait a couple days and then pin it again. Make sure that the link on the side of the pin is visible for all of the relevant websites that share your niche, and then watch as your pins start to generate free website traffic.
However, using Pinterest for free website traffic isn’t the only way to generate traffic with your pin. In fact, many of the methods you can use will generate the same amount of traffic. So instead of worrying about how much traffic you’ll get from one pin, try using several of them in combination – each of which will bring in more traffic than the last.
For example, instead of using just the tagline on one pin, add links to a couple of your other pins. One of them might have a great sales pitch and lead to a different website, whereas another may lead to a blog or a related product. The point is that each of the links on one of these pins will bring in more traffic than the previous one did.
You can also optimize your pins with anchor text links. For example, instead of just using the word “pink” in your title, you can use the word “pink” two times in the first paragraph, or replace “pink” with “beautiful” or something similar. Anchor text links are a little more difficult to find but worth it for more targeted results.
By combining these techniques, you can increase the number of people who find your site when they are searching for information related to your niche. This will allow you to convert visitors into buyers much more quickly.
If you want your pin to rank higher in the search engines, then you have to use SEO on it. Search engine optimization (SEO) involves optimizing your site to make it as unique as possible. By doing this, you can increase the chances that people will find your site by using search engines.
Your first SEO step should be to create backlinks to your site – these are links pointing back to your site from other websites which are also providing useful information, rather than direct links which point to your site directly. These backlinks are very important to your search engine rankings, as they increase your chances of being discovered by people.
A few other helpful SEO tips include ensuring that you include as many keywords in your tags as possible, as this will improve the number of searches that your site receives. and also making sure that your meta tags and Meta descriptions contain relevant keywords in them.
If you follow these tips you should be able to generate a large amount of free traffic for your site, and make the most of your pins by getting the word out about your business and what you have to offer to people in your niche.
